The Forum began with our panel ‘Investor’s perspectives’ featuring senior level experts Vishaal Shah (Niveda Group), Okomboli Ong’ong’a (Phatisa) and moderator David Kayondo (Goldswans Group) who shared their investment experiences on the ground in real estate projects.
The following panel ‘Where are the Opportunities in East Africa’s commercial real estate sector?’ looked at where the best opportunities were in this high growth sector. Panellists included Nick Holberton (CBRE) and John Geeson (Haskoll).
Following the coffee break and a chance to network with each other, participants once again took their seats for the next session ‘Navigating East Africa’s residential and mixed use real estate sector’ dedicated to the opportunities that mixed-use projects can bring when developing housing. The expert line up comprised of Nick Gilodi-Johnson (Karibu Homes), Phil Bonds (BroadwayMaylan), Okomboli Ong’ong’a (Phatisa) and moderated by Artem Gurevich (Rendeavour).
The concluding panel looked at ‘The state of Real Estate in Mozambique and its opportunities’. Panellists debated whether Mozambique was set to be the next big investment destination in East Africa.
The afternoon closed with a networking lunch where guests had ample opportunity for close networking to discuss ideas whilst enjoying a light buffet.
